Safeguarding

Safeguarding at Bramingham Primary School.

At Bramingham, we ensure that appropriate and secure safeguarding  measures are in place. the safety of our children is of paramount importance.

We believe that "Safeguarding is EVERYONE'S responsibility".

All school staff undergo regular training in safeguarding. A system is in place to ensure that this takes place on an annual basis, thereby ensuring that safeguarding training and awareness is always up-to-date. Procedures are firmly in place so that any concerns are promptly reported to the school’s designated person who then takes any required actions.

As a member of the public you are also able to report concerns directly to Children's Social Care, known locally as MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub), this can be done anonymously either by telephone, email or the link below. If you feel the situation is an emergency please call 999.

Early Help Offer

As a school we are committed to providing support at the earliest opportunity to support our children and families. We recognise that the earlier needs are identified and support and /or interventions are in place the better the outcomes. Please find attached our Early Help offer.
Safeguarding Audit.

Every academic year we complete a S175 Audit of our Safeguarding procedures that we submit to the Local Authority Safeguarding in Education Team.
PREVENT

As part of Bramingham Primary Schools safeguarding and child protection duties, we undertake our role in the Government's Prevent Strategy. From 1 July 2015 all schools are subject to a duty under section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, in the exercise of their functions, to have “due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”. This duty is known as the ‘Prevent Duty for Schools’.

At Bramingham Primary School we build pupils’ resilience to radicalisation by promoting fundamental British Values and enabling our pupils to challenge extremist views.  We also have a robust PSHE and Values based curriculum that develops all areas of our children's personal and social skills. Information on this is available in the Curriculum area of our website.

The statutory guidance refers to the importance of Prevent awareness training to equip staff to identify children at risk of being drawn into terrorism and to challenge extremist ideas. All staff complete safeguarding training that includes PREVENT.

Any concerns relating to PREVENT are reported in the same manner as a safeguarding concern. The Single Point of Contact for PREVENT is Cath Legg.
