Things to remember
Please send your child to school with a named water bottle.
Outdoor PE is on Mondays and Wednesdays - please come to school in the correct PE kit.

Your child can become a Star Reader if they read at home at least 3 times each week. They will receive a certificate and prize at the end of each half term if they read regularly at home. Please record each time you hear your child read in the reading record. Reading records will be checked every Monday. Regular reading at home develops good writing skills and expands vocabulary.
  • Perfect your number formation.
  • Count on and back in 1s, from different starting numbers.  Work to 50.
  • Count up in 2s.  2, 4, 6, 8, 10...
  • Count up in 5s.  5, 10, 15, 20, 25...
  • Count up in 10s. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50...
At the end of Year 1 your child will take part in the Phonics Screening Check. The check will consist of 20 real words and 20 alien (nonsense words). Have a go at reading the words below.
